4. What types of art can be displayed at Kala Pola?
Eligible works include paintings, collages, drawings, sculptures, and carvings in any media. Art forms such as batiks, handicrafts, greeting cards, mass-produced work, tattoo, and body art are not allowed. All works must be original and created by the exhibitor within the last five years.
5. Can child artists register for Kala Pola?
Unfortunately, only artists aged 18 and above are allowed to participate in Kala Pola from 2025 onwards.
6. I sell art products. Can I get a stall?
Only practicing artists are eligible to participate in Kala Pola. Third-party sellers such as agents or art dealers are not permitted.
7. Can I register for more than one stall?
Each artist is only allowed one stall. Artists cannot register for multiple stalls under different names.
8. How do I register as an artist?
Artist registration is done via the Kala Pola website. Registration typically opens 1-3 months before the event, usually in November or December, and is announced on Kala Pola’s social media platforms.
9. How long does the artist registration period last?
The registration period depends on the number of artists. Once the maximum number of participants is reached, registration closes.
10. How are stalls allocated?
The stall numbers will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis.
11. Can I share my stall with another artist?
Yes, artists can share a stall with another practicing artist, but prior notice must be given to the
organisers, along with details of the sharing artist during registration.
12. What is the Kala Pola catalogue?
The Kala Pola catalogue contains details about each participating artist and is available on the Kala Pola website.
13. What facilities are provided to artists at Kala Pola?
Each artist is provided with a stall space, a marquee, a light bulb, and a chair. Artists are responsible for any additional items, such as display furniture, food, and water. Toilet facilities will be made available within a reasonable distance.
